Chief Operating Officer

Aminu Ahmeed has over 17 years of progressive experience in the financial services industry and is a seasoned financial services executive recognized for his strategic vision, operational excellence, governance strength, and people-focused leadership.

He currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at DavoDani Microfinance Bank (DDMFB), where he plays a critical enterprise-wide role in translating strategy into execution and ensuring the efficient day-to-day management of the Bank’s operations. In this capacity, Aminu provides leadership across core operational functions, strengthens internal controls and governance frameworks, optimizes processes, and drives performance alignment with the Bank’s strategic objectives, regulatory requirements, and defined risk appetite. As COO, he is instrumental in enhancing operational efficiency, service delivery, institutional resilience, and sustainable growth, while fostering a high-performance and accountability-driven culture across the organization.

Prior to his appointment as COO, Aminu served as Head of Risk Management at Opticom Finance Limited, where he was responsible for identifying, assessing, and proactively mitigating emerging risks that could impact operational efficiency and business sustainability. He led the implementation of robust risk management frameworks, ensured continuous regulatory compliance, and strengthened collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.

Aminu possesses strong expertise in leading cross-functional teams, embedding effective accountability structures, navigating complex market dynamics, and driving innovation to support organizational resilience and long-term value creation.

He holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Statistics (Upper Credit Division) from the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun State, and an MBA in Financial Management from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology. He has also completed numerous professional courses and certifications, including Certified Transformational Leadership, Certified Agile Essentials, Decision Making in Planning & Workflow Management (Frankfurt School of Finance & Management), AML/CFT/CPF (CBN & DBN), as well as training in Emerging Markets, Cyber Risk, and ESG Risk Management, among others.

Aminu is a member of professional bodies such as the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN)and the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM). He is ISO/IEC 27001 Information Security Management System (ISMS) CertifiedandISO 31000 – Fundamentals of Enterprise Risk Management Certified.

Before joining DavoDani Microfinance Bank (DDMFB), he held senior roles in reputable institutions including Union Assurance Plc, AB Microfinance Bank Nigeria (a subsidiary of Access Holding, Berlin, Germany), Primera Microfinance Bank (a subsidiary of Primera Africa, now Koins Bank), CFS Finance Company Limited (where he served as Head, Risk and Asset Management), and Opticom Finance Limited (where he served as Head, Risk Management).

Outside of work, Aminu enjoys reading, travelling, training, and continuously exploring opportunities for personal and professional growth.
